Not just a Tasty Bite !

The Tasty Bite Café in Thrapston is fast becoming a shopper’s haven!  Not just a great place for teas, coffees, lunches and delicious cakes this little gem hosts the ‘Thrapston Shelves’.DSCF1908

Tasty Bite is one of the few remaining Victorian Cast Iron fronted cafes in the UK and therefore a listed building.  When current owner, Sarah Whiteside, took over the café she soon realised that there were not many changes she could make to either the inside or the outside, so confronted with a café where most of the walls are shelves she came up with the ingenious idea of renting them to local crafters and small businesses!

The ‘Thrapston Shelves’ currently play host to jams and chutneys, whilst Hilly Horton Home stock their shelves with cushions, pots, vases and all sorts of homely items, local artist Keith Hill displays his paintings, AmbaScarlett offer jewellery and handbags, plus there are cake stands, cards and lunch boxes!IMG_2009

Tasty Bite’s Thrapston Shelves are a huge hit with customers as they are able to pick up last minute gifts or treats for themselves whilst they sip their cuppa!

The Tasty Bite Café can be found in the High Street in Thrapston opposite Barclays Bank.
