Nene local was invited along to this friendly Wellingborough network meeting to see how things ran.




Businesses are encouraged to leave their cards and literature for others to browse

The agenda was the usual networking schedule, with a speaker, time for everyone to have 40 seconds to do their elevator pitch and a business to business section, in which people can recommend businesses in the room with whom they’ve worked and had good service.

Let’s all recommend each other!

Each month there is a speaker, so there is always something to new to learn at the Wellingborough Business Network, this month we heard about grants from the Northamptonshire Growth Hub. Very useful for all the new start up businesses in the room and some long standing businesses too.

How can networking help my business?


People buy from people. No matter whether you are a plumber, own a cake making company or are a pension advisor – every business needs customers. You can advertise in the local paper or magazine but let’s face it, most of those end up in the recycling bin and it costs a pretty penny!
Or you can go along to a networking group. Stand up and tell the room what you do, then spend time chatting to the other guests and building a rapport. Don’t judge anyone in the room – they may not be your ideal customer, but you don’t know who they know – you could be on the verge of your biggest ever contract!
There are even people in the room who can help you with your 40 second pitch and teach you how to network effectively!
