Chilli Festival Set to Bring Heat to Wellingborough

Sizzling snacks and eye-watering spices will be on the menu at this year’s Pop-Up Chilli Fiesta set to hit Wellingborough next month.

CHILLI FESTIVAL

The hotly anticipated free event, which is bound to set tastebuds on fire, will take place on Saturday, February 24, at the Tithe Barn between 11am and 5pm.

Chilli producers from all over the UK will showcase their products, including sauces, jams, pastries, pickles, dips and even drinks.

It has been organised by Discover Wellingborough, the town’s Business Improvement District (BID), which is paid for by town centre businesses.

John Cable, Manager of the Wellingborough BID, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to host another chilli event. Last year we didn’t have one and it was hugely missed by all the chilli lovers of Wellingborough and beyond, which is why we’ve brought it back.

“We’re always looking at ways to spice up the town centre events calendar and we’re sure this chilli event is going to crank up the heat in Wellingborough this February.”

A wide range of fierce mouth-watering chilli-based products will be available to buy on the stalls as well as the chance for people to learn more about the ingredient and all its health benefits.

It can help prevent type 2 diabetes, boost immunity and prevent stomach ulcers.

Discover Wellingborough is supporting popular local charity, Chelsea’s Angels, which will be present on the day.

The local charity raises money for Neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer. The organisation was named after a little girl who was diagnosed with the condition in 2007, aged just two.
