Nene Local has been introducted to the Dare to Bare ladies. A group of breast cancer survivers who are all introduced below;
Amanda, Debbie, Jayne, Katie, Loraine, Lucy and Nila all met at the Crazy Hats charity ‘coffee and chat’ mornings in 2016 and soon developed a close bond. The charity provides vital support to those going through breast cancer at whatever stage of treatment.
Unfortunately, a year later, Katie was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and passed away in November 2017. She spent time at Cransley Hospice where the support and understanding of the staff was invaluable for her and her family.
The ladies decided to create the calendar to give something back to those two charities which had helped them and their friends; they also want to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis through self-examination and attending mammograms; and finally it’s helped them to achieve something positive out of their shared cancer experience.
Introducing their Dare to Bare Calendar
All costs have been covered through the generous sponsorship of local companies, so every penny raised through sales will go to one of the charities. They are also selling a handmade silver necklace that was designed specifically for the project and which they are wearing in the calendar. In addition there’s a Dare To Bare prize draw, and whilst tickets can’t be bought online, there are pages on the website showing the full prize list and all the events the ladies will be attending where they can be bought.
