Oundle Rotary Club Youth Award

Rotary is changing, and because the clubs are rooted within their own communities, several opportunities arise for many different community projects. With the help of the Oundle, Peterborough and East Northants (OPEN) Learning Partnership, Oundle Rotary has established the Rotary Club of Oundle Award, to be given to local school leavers in recognition of their “commitment to citizenship, goodwill and understanding through various activities in their community”. The first award, with the help of Viv Gascoine, the Housemistress of Laxton House, Oundle School, went to a smashing young man, Henry Potter who was presented with a Youth Award year end Certificate and book token in recognition of his work with the local Cubs group.

Further awards will be made to leavers from Prince William School, and Oundle Primary School, both members of the OPEN Learning Partnership. Oundle Rotary hope the Award winners will work with them over the next year or so, to increase their reach into the local community, and will keep working with the Oundle School Community Action team to the same ends too.

Oundle Rotary is also in touch with Prince William School and Oundle Primary School who have given the club the names of nominated pupils that will also be receiving the Youth Award. These presentations will be taking place at later dates. Photo attached is of the presentation to Henry Potter.
